The Way the Football Bounces

We only thought we were going to be home for Christmas. :) As it turns out, we will be readmitted to the hospital tomorrow. The latest pathological analysis of Myla's bone marrow showed that the first round of chemo had not wiped out the leukemia, so she needs the second round of chemo sooner than later.

The good news is that Myla won't need another bone marrow test tomorrow when we go in. Instead, they will look at her ANC, which will hopefully be over 1,000 this time. If the ANC is lower than the 700 from Monday's test, then we're not really sure what would happen. This situation is a bit of a catch-22; we have to give her the chemo before the leukemia rebounds, yet her system may not have recovered enough to handle the chemo treatments. We're hoping that the three days that will have passed since Monday will have given her system the time it needs to recharge.

Raul,
Your family is continually in our prayers. We continue to think of your family and pray God's will for your lives. He does all things perfectly, according to the counsel of his own will.
