Day 24

Okay, so my failed attempt at prophecy didn't work out on Thursday, so we found ourselves still in the hospital--but with good news! Myla's ANC had risen to 17 by yesterday, and that means that we might be headed home in a few days! As Melissa pointed out on her Caring Bridge site, today’s report put Myla’s ANC back at zero, but that doesn’t mean much because this number came from the lab the hospital uses on the weekend. Apparently, the results from the M-F lab are more reliable.

Raul Matthew and I headed up north for the day. We spent the afternoon at a basketball tournament at Peru High School with my friend, Mike, and his family. Mike’s nephew, Kyle, starts on the Maconaquah 7th grade boys team, which won the tournament by downing Peru in the final game. After the win, Mike, Raul Matthew, and I headed to Dairy Queen for lunch, and while there, Mike gave us a monetary gift sent from congregation of the Bethany Evangelical Free Church in Rensselaer, Indiana. Thanks so much for your generosity!

We then headed back home to drop off some things and spend a few minutes checking on the cats before heading back down to Indy. As it turned out, neither of us felt like leaving home, so we decided to spend the night here in Kokomo for a change. Raul Matthew has been watching some of his favorite videos tonight and I've done laundry and done some catching up some on e-mails.
