Round 3, Day 21

First, some pictures:

  1. First floor of the Riley Outpatient Center (ROC)
  2. Myla in one of her jailbird outfits. If you select the original size, you can see me reflected in her eyes. I could expand on this metaphor, but I'll leave that to the country singers.
  3. The remote in our room.
  4. What happens when you use too much bleach in the washers.
  5. Raul Matthew lost a tooth today.
  6. The construction plastic getting torn by the high winds today.
  7. Thou shalt not covet thy mother's cookie.
  8. Myla sleeping

Thanks again for your continued prayers. Myla continues to recover well from this third round of chemo, and keep watching each day for her ANC to begin rebuilding. It was 20 on Friday but has been 0 the last 2 days.

Last night, things went south for one of the little ones on our floor, leading to more drama than a Shakespeare festival. It was interesting to watch the nurses swing into crisis mode. I've had the privilege of observing them up close for a few months now, and I can say without reservation that the nurses here on the 5th floor of Riley Hospital are professionals in the truest sense of the word. Sadly, the child was moved to another part of the hospital. Within a short time, their room was cleared out and prepared for another patient who came that same night. All that was left was this Valentines Day decoration that had been ripped from their door during the commotion, only to be left behind in the corner of the hallway.
