Round 3, Day 4

Some pictures...
  1. From yesterday, I happened to be home at the time that "construction" began on SR 26 just outside our place. Seven people have died at the entrance to our apartment complex, so the hill seen here will be leveled. The loud noises from the earth movers will keep the cats entertained for weeks, I'm sure.
  2. Myla showed an interesting range of emotions when a couple of nurses stopped in last night. Here's a shot of Myla asking, "Why me???" (I was going to say these were "a couple of her favorite nurses," but all our nurses have been favorites so far.) A moment later, Myla was entertaining us with her smile and laugh.
  3. Raul Matthew holding Myla.
  4. Myla asleep and Melissa pretending to be asleep.
  5. Myla's eye drops.
  6. Myla's finger nails.
  7. Socks for Myla and chili spices from Raul and Lucy. Thanks!
  8. The new door for an old colleague. Wait, I meant former colleague. :)
  9. Inside the new student center at IUPUI where I spent part of the afternoon writing a reference letter for Ashley, my advisee, who is applying to grad school at Purdue.
  10. Today's lunch, a rice bowl.

I am so appreciative of the blog to keep us updated on Myla's progress, especially the pictures. I feel like I know her even though I have never met her. There are so many praying for her here (Cleveland) at Bay Presbyterian Church and at St. Andrews in Mt. Airy, MD. I share pictures with them and some visit the blog. God bless you as you walk through this difficult time with him. Julie's Mom

The "Why Me?" picture made me cry! I am so sorry for what this precious little girl has to go through. I pray daily for her. I loved seeing that smile come back on her face!

Not just the rice bowls, Hannah, but the pasta bowl on Tuesdays! (For those of you who don't know--which is basically all of you--Hannah is a former student of mine who works here on the same floor at Riley. And after nearly 3 months, we STILL haven't found a way to connect in person!)

Julie's Mom, thanks so much for your prayers and the prayers of your churches!!! We're greatly encouraged to hear this. :)

Cheryl, thanks for your comment on the photo. Thankfully, I have to shoot pictures quickly to be able to capture her crying. :) Many more smiles on the way.
